Stealthy & deadly, the stamina nightblade build has been updated for Morrowind. Lots of burst damage, sustain and utility. This is a two handed & bow setup for maximum speed and evasiveness.
Weapons & Armor SelectionOpen
Shacklebreaker is an awesome new set that came with the Morrowind update, it’s a crafted set that allows you to fully customize your traits & style. The bonuses are great too, a little bit of everything and a perfect synergy with our 2nd set.
I am using this set on the following pieces:
- Chest (reinforced, heavy).
- Legs (impenetrable, heavy).
- Head (impenetrable, medium).
- Shoulders (impenetrable, medium).
- Feet (impenetrable, medium).
The second set that I am employing in this setup is the Bone Pirate set.
Bone Pirate is an awesome PVE dungeon set that drops in Blackheart Haven, I suggest that you do veteran mode for epic jewelry. It provides a lot of maximum stamina, as well as sustain once the last bonus condition is met with our drink buff.
I am using this set on the following pieces:
- Waist (impenetrable, medium).
- Hands (impenetrable, medium).
- Necklace (robust, weapon damage glyph).
- 2 Rings (robust, weapon damage glyphs).
My primary Two Handed weapon is the Maelstrom Greatsword.
More weapon damage is what I’m primarily after, you can also slot double damage over time poisons since we have our own gap closer and we don’t need the two handed one.
My secondary weapon is the Maelstrom Bow.
Again, more weapon damage on the off bar, and double damage over time poisons are slotted here as well, in combination with some of our skills which I will show you below.
If you do not have VMA weapons and don’t want to bother getting them, then just craft a Shacklebreaker Two Handed & Bow weapons (go sharpened & defending) and you will have one apparel piece free to put a monster mask of your choice.
I would put either a shoulder or a head piece of a set that adds weapon damage, or alternatively stamina recovery, maximum stamina or physical penetration.
All gear should have tri-stat glyphs on the big pieces (chest, head, legs) and stamina enchantments on small ones. You will be hitting 4% undaunted stats with this setup.
Skills & LoadoutOpen
- Mass Hysteria, morph of Aspect of Terror from the Shadow skill tree.
- Killer’s Blade, morph of Assassin’s Blade from the Assassination skill tree.
- Surprise Attack, morph of Veiled Strike from the Shadow skill tree.
- Ambush, morph of Teleport Strike from the Assassination skill tree.
- Rally, morph of Momentum from the Two Handed skill tree.
- Incapacitating Strike ultimate, morph of Death Stroke from the Assassination skill tree.
Incapacitating Strike is one of the strongest ultimates in the game (probably the strongest single target damage one), it deals a lot of damage, on this build it critically strikes often and it also inflicts additional negative effects such as healing taken reduction (major defile) and also a stun.
It can be recharged very quickly since it doesn’t cost much.
Mass Hysteria is an aoe crowd control ability that also inflicts minor maim and a snare, it goes through block & dodge roll, so if your opponent doesn’t have crowd control immunity, this will seriously affect them in the long run.
It also procs the shadow skill tree passive that gives you major resistances.
Killer’s Blade is a finisher and it’s better than the two handed one, because when you kill the target with it, it will heal you, and even if they die quickly from something else after you’ve used this. It’s also disease damage, which means that you can proc the minor healing debuff from it.
Surprise Attack is a high damaging single target ability that also inflicts a major armor debuff. When it critically strikes, you can do some crazy damage with it.
Ambush is a gap closer that also grants empower buff (20% more damage) on our next attack, making it a perfect combo with surprise attack. It also briefly snares.
Rally is a burst heal, as well as a healing over time ability. It also gives us major weapon damage buff, which is very important.
My Bow bar has the following skills:
- Dark Cloak, morph of Shadow Cloak from the Shadow skill tree.
- Shuffle, morph of Evasion from the Medium Armor skill tree.
- Poison Injection, morph of Poison Arrow from the Bow skill tree.
- Resolving Vigor, morph of Vigor from the Alliance War Assault skill tree.
- Relentless Focus, morph of Grim Focus from the Assassination skill tree.
- Ballista ultimate, morph of Rapid Fire from the Bow skill tree.
Ballista is an awesome single target damage over time ultimate that you can use at range. It can provide suppressing fire if you want to get away, or simply let you kill targets at range if it’s a big battle and you can’t move in.
Dark Cloak is very important in order to remain stealthy and get away, it lasts for almost 3 seconds, it also activates the shadow passive giving you major resistances, and on top, it provides a minor protection buff, reducing damage taken by 8% for 5 seconds.
Shuffle is used to get the 15% dodge chance, but to also occasionally remove snares and immobilizations, and since we’re in 5 medium armor pieces, it will give us brief immunity on activation too.
Poison Injection deals initial as well as damage over time, and you want to pair it with a double damage over time poison too. This way you can inflict some serious damage from range, and if you use the ballista ultimate, it can be deadly.
Resolving Vigor is our main self heal, it’s important that it often critically strikes. Use it and then go into cloak to make sure it heals you up.
Relentless Focus serves a few purposes. It provides minor berserk damage buff (8% more damage), it gives us 10% more stamina recovery and it also allows us to fire a disease damage projectile once the condition has been fulfilled. This projectile does a lot of damage.
Also, you will have more ranged capabilities with this skill, and even when you’re fighting a melee opponent, often it will be ready when you weapon swap, allowing you to inflict even more damage while getting distance to heal up.
Consumables & MundusOpen
In the end, you will have a lot more maximum stamina, still have maximum health from your drink buff, and a whole lot more stamina recovery. Perfect.
The Thief stone is used to get more critical strike rating, and this will tremendously improve your damage, but also healing, since heals can critically strike too.
As a NB, you want high numbers and often critical strikes for both your damage & healing.
This is why I also use the Essence of Weapon Critical potions, which give me another 10% weapon critical on a cooldown (it lasts for over 40 seconds), as well as health & stamina management.
Race & PassivesOpen
I am a stage 4 vampire, for more recoveries and undeath passive, but also to get the dark stalker passive and sneak at full speed.
Combined with cloak, our mobility as well as maneuverability is extremely good.
The most important thing is to avoid siege weapons, destruction staff fire ultimates, and magicka dragonknights. Those are your weaknesses as a stage 4 vampire.
You also want to level up the legerdemain world skill tree and get the 40% reduced cost of sneak, this will save you a lot of stamina while sneaking around in PVP.
